Rotary vocational service

zondag 6 oktober 2019

Together with 8 other Antwerp Rotary clubs, Annemie, Johan and Eric are preparing the 53rd edition for the joint professional action. After the preparation of the various letters and contact with the schools, the forms were counted and stacked per school per school.

In the first week of October, the volunteers of the action distributed the forms and letters to more than 2,000 students from 30 schools where they could express their interest in certain professions. By January 16, the committee is looking for more than 150 informants from around 80 professions to provide an evening of information to the final year students from the participating schools.

On the evening itself, the hall of the University of Antwerp Campus Drie Eiken must be fully furnished and a complete organization must be set up to guarantee safety (fire, accident and violence). After the information, the 200 participating informants (mostly non Rotarians) and volunteers are treated to a cozy buffet to thank them for their cooperation. After that we can all go home satisfied and think about the next edition.

The top team of our club has been one of the main pillars of this project for several years.
