Our governor Marc Bosmans came to visit our club. But we had to wait a long time because he was standing at the Hotel Ramada instead of our restaurant Salons Van Edel. Meanwhile the members of the board made a virtue of this opportunity and took an appertive (one or even more than one) on the terrace on the first floor. After a long time, the governor arrived around 20 minutes to 8 and immediately isalotaed himself with our president Johan to hear how it was with our club, and that in the presence of our AG Luk Geuens. Unfortunately there was no time for a meeting with the board.

Once at the table, our chairman Johan welcomed the governor and our other guests. He gave the floor to Isabelle, who was the youngest member, explaining her experiences as a young Rotarian and involved in the exchange program as a student. Isabelle also had a present for the governor, and for every member present: a keychain with the 4 questions for those who forgot the 4 basic Rotary questions. Johan reported that we would transfer an amount of EUR 500 for the Rotary Foundation.

Then it was our governor's turn to take the floor. It will not be easy to summarize this. He started to mention the annual theme, 'Be the Inspiration', leafed through the 12 pages of text that he had prepared and then immediately thanked us for the welcome in our club. Afterwards Johan handed over a fannion of the club signed by all members present to the governor and received a fannion from him with the annual international Rotary theme. Johan will undoubtedly provide a special place for this fannion above his bed.

After the meeting there was, as traditionally, still a long time to chat. In view of the sensitivity of the subjects and the far-advanced hour so that the secretary would have to perform unpaid overtime, these discussions are not recorded in writing.
