The promotion 'Elfenboom' was announced a long time ago, but shortly before the start of the event, we changed the name to 'A heart for a present'.
The intention was that with the members of the club we would sell a small package with chocolate candies together with a heart for 15 EUR, with which we could buy the packages for the children who did not receive a package at the end of the year. In addition, the people who bought a ticket also received a wooden heart and a card on which the package was stated, the age and gender of the child and the first letter of the first name.
Srijan, our aspiring member; ensured that we could sell the hearts with the packages on Saturday 11 December at the Christmas market in Putte Kapellen. Despite the cold, a lot of people came to the market and we were successful in selling our hearts. Thanks to Anita, Edwige, Nicolette, Daniëlle and Eric for making time on a Saturday afternoon to commit to our cause. It was a great success and sold about 75% of all the packages that we had foreseen that afternoon.
Normally we went to a Christmas market again a week later, but due to corona, all Christmas markets were abolished one by one. Two good souls from the club, Ilse and Ian, showed their good hearts and bought the remaining hearts to hand out to the teachers at the end of the year. Huge thanks Ilse and Ian.
Anita, Annemie and Srijan then bought the packages and had them delivered to Anita. After everything had arrived, we were able to take all the parcels with 2 large full cars to CKG Dennenhuis in Kapellen, which further took care of the distribution to the charities for which the parcels were intended.
A great promotion that will certainly qualify for a next edition.
