Intronisation Danielle Boon

It was party time again at Rotary Club Antwerp.International: not only were we able to meet again, but this time it was also the opportunity to welcome a new member to the club. First,

Danielle was asked to present the 4 questions that are recited by every Rotarian at his introduction:

  • Is it true?
  • Is it fair for all involved?
  • Does it promote mutual trust and friendship?
  • Does it benefit all involved? Afterwards,

Eric was allowed to say a few words:

Dear friends,

It is the duty of our Rotary club to admit new members to the club from time to time, so that we can not only increase our impact and influence as a club, but also spread the spirit of Rotary throughout the community. Today I welcome Daniëlle Boon to our ranks.

Rotary members believe that we have a shared responsibility to take action against the most persistent problems in our world. Our 35,000+ clubs work together to:

  • Promote peace
  • Fight disease
  • Provide clean water, sanitation and hygiene
  • Save mothers and children
  • Support education
  • Grow local economies
  • Protect the environment

Dear Danielle, you have been elected to this club because our members believe you are a worthy representative of your profession and also because we believe you possess the qualities that will enable you to embody the true spirit of Rotary in your public, business, social and personal lives.

However, you have been admitted not only to the Rotary Club of Antwerp.International, but to a worldwide association; and by virtue of your membership in this club, you will be welcomed into the community of every Rotary club in the world.

The honor and privilege of membership in Rotary carries with it duties and obligations. You are expected to attend club meetings regularly, participate in community service activities, and offer your knowledge and talents to the club in its mission to bring Rotary principles into the daily life of the community.

I ask all members to stand. Rotarian Daniëlle Boon, on behalf of the Rotary Club Antwerp.International, I now formally recognize you as a member of this club and ask you to wear our emblem with pride. (Annemie holds the pin up for Danielle.)

Fellow Rotarians, I ask you all to welcome Daniëlle to our club.
