Sint-Niklaas

We went to Brasschaat with a large group to see Sinterklaas in OLO according to the annual tradition. Probably due to his advanced age and busy schedule, Sinterklaas apparently had not found the time to trim his beard.

Zwarte Piet had a great day. She (it was a female Piet) asked all children about their name and whether they have been good during the past year. Most children were impressed and were allowed to take turns choosing a present. We had chosen packages on the advice of the OLO management: playing football, strips, games for the playstation, etc. This was supplemented with chocolate, gingerbread and mandarin oranges.

And when all the packages had been handed out, it was time to satisfy the inner man. For a number of chickens from restaurant Kiekebos that ended up on our plates, the end of this fun evening was less pleasant.
