do you know what I would like to do? I would like to hug you, each of you, one by one. Unfortunately this is not possible due to a virus, as small as 65 nanometer (6.5 × 10-11 kilometers) but with an enormous impact on our society and on the people around us.
I hope that you and your dear ones are all doing well. Some of you have some physical problems not related to covid-19. Dear Ian, Erna, Ilse, ... and perhaps someone I forgot: please get well soon and join again our meetings very quickly. We all think about you
More than ever we need to keep on meeting. More than ever our help is needed. 'Service above self' around us is more important than ever. But to help our community, we need helping hands, we need fresh ideas, we need ... you ! Please join our online meetings, because in the next few weeks we have to take a lot of important decisions and make plans for the rest of the year. And I reach also a hand to all our members who stay temporarily or definitely abroad. These online meetings give you a splendid opportunity to be very close with us and to participate in our programs.
We not only need to pay attention to community service, but we also need new members. More than ever this is a challenge in these days, but Rotarians of Rotary Club Antwerp.international take up the glove and will prove that we can do better than a lot of other clubs. Who will be the first one to introduce a new member? Try to look for good recruiting ideas in this membership month and share these with the other members.
No one of us knows what will happen in the next few weeks or months. Will we be able to meet again or will we be obliged to only see each other via a computer screen for a longer time? Will we be able to hold the change of power party that Annemie so deserves on September 17, or will we still have to stay in 'ons kot'?
Get along well and stay healthy. Hope to see you all in good shape during one of our next meetings. A big virtual hug to all of you.
